Jukebox Themed & Place Card Decorations

Yesterday's blog post was for the party favor's.  Today, I wanted to share the cake decorations made. Since I could not find anything appropriate (OMG - it's Halloween everywhere in the stores), I decide to make my own cake decorations using the same images from the Rockin & Rollin SVG Kit Collection from . Based on the cake size (half sheet), each piece was made to scale.
Jukebox finished size (scaled down from the 3D party favors): 3-1/2" x 5". Yes, even the record play list was scaled down with the same record list.
Girl finished size: 2" x 4-1/2"
Girl on roller skates finished size: 3-1/4" x 4-1/2"
Car finished size: 5-1/2" x 4-3/4". Like the computer generated license plate? We did find photos to insert into the car:
LOVE the car - shrunken black and white photos of Rick's long time friends are also in the car. He has known them since Kindergarten School..........can you imagine that!! Like the computer generated license plate?
Each piece had a clean backed mat to hide the skewers used to prop up the decorations. Skewers were attached using a hot glue gun.  Foam tape is added to the inside sandwich so the back can be clean finished.
The place cards: separate images were cut from the Rockin & Rollin SVG Kit Collection, then adhered to cut/folded card stock.  Each color coded place card represented either fish, chicken, steak, or medallions. This way the restaurant already had the orders and were able to serve efficiently.  With seating being last minute, clear adhesive printed stickers are used for the names. I love the decorations on top of each place card..........cute, eh? Finished size is 2"x 4".
Here's examples of the place card backside with the meals pre-assigned facing outside for the waiters to reconfirm:
Here's a closer look at each style of place card: Mine is of course, red color with some adhesive rhinestones. In fact, all the girls got glasses with some sparkle.
Lovin the dice in also my favorite color:
Of course, I had to add a poker chip:
It all worked out well and I was so relieved it is now all over..............whew!!!

3D Jukebox with Tea Light

A milestone birthday deserves something special - Even though every where one turns, Halloween (Thanksgiving or Christmas) surrounds us in the stores, we decided to go with a Jukebox 60's theme for some fun. I got a chance to again use the file Rock Rollin SVG Kit . The Jukebox with a tea light was the selected favor that would be useful as a parting and 'thank you" gift to attendees. There were 40 of these made. One for each household was given at the dinner. Finished size: 4-3/4" x 6-3/4" x 3-1/4"
The musical sheet is a clip art that was computer generated, then cut using my SCAL program and my Silhouette as the cutting machine.  It's so much easier than stamping and cutting so many of these.  The song list was also computer generated using my Excel program - note the first song is a Happy day song!!!
The jukebox uses Recollections Kraft paper (which I'm not sure why they don't carry 12x12 size anymore). Only the front is stamped using SU Crumb Cake ink and the SU Wood grain stamp.
The back is stamped with a special bar code stamp using Versamark Ink.....I'm not sure where I got this one.
Here they all were ready to be packaged up for the giving:

And, this is the finished project: it took a 6 lb candy gusset bag and some curling ribbon to provide the final finish.
Yellow, Red, and Green vellum used.....and talk about difficulty to locate.......finally found at my local art store: Flax. Here is the jukebox with the tea light...............
Am glad these were all completed on time!!!

Halloween Round Purses

Talk about a Purse full of Halloween treats...........this purse is heavy!!! I got this cute SVG cut file from Cre8tive Cuts, their store and cut file here. By using Patterned Halloween paper and some black card stock, this purse is transformed into a pretty cute and scary treat holder! Some plastic embellishments are used for the front as well as some words cut using my SCAL computer program/silhouette cutting machine.  Finished purse size 4-1/4" x 1-1/2" x 2-5/8 (excluding handles) and 4-1/4" x 1-1/2" x 5" (including the handle height). Many boarder punches used for the purse front/back bottom from Martha Stewart and EK Success.
Here's what's inside: Yummy eyeballs and gummy body parts along with the usual suspect of chocolate treats.
More details of each bag: up close, too! Lots of Stickles around the words for sparkle, then pop them up using some foam squares.
 Aren't these Halloween purses cool?

Spider Treat Boxes

Talk about a cute treat box. This SVG cut file is from My Scrap Chick (it was free at one time - so if you have SCAL (Sure Cuts a Lot 2/3), sign up for their weekly free images). I cut the project using my Silhouette machine. Finished size 4"x 2-1/4" and WOW, holds a whole bunch of candy!!! Yes, the spider cut file is also included! The card stock used is from my stash (got a whole bunch of Halloween paper when it was 70% there's a deal!)
See what I mean? Inside is a Glow in the Dark Spider, too along with the candy. Don't you just love the gummie fingers?
Side view: The Orange flower is from Recollections and the purple flower is a rolled using the same purple card stock as the box bottom.
Trick or Treat printed grosgrain ribbon (gads.........I am so glad I finally got to use this ribbon I've had forever in my stash):
And the spider: use a white gel pen to add some interest on the body, pop it up with foam squares:

Cute project, eh? It would also be cute to make for Christmas.....filled with cookies and a glitter snowflake on top with a holiday image. hmmmm.............

Asian ATC Swap

My blog friend Jan (Jan's Joy sent me an Asian ATC surprise in the mail and I finally got a chance to post it. Washi paper is glued to card stock (how clever is she?).  Image is stamped, cut, mounted using foam tape onto the Washi paper.
More details on this ATC:
Stamp set: Great Impressions E547by Vicki Schreiner 2007 stamp
Ink: Black Versafine,Clear Embossing powder
Coloring with Copics
Accents: Gold Smooch, Red adhesive gem, Marvy Southwest Corner Punch, Gold Thread
The ATC size is 2-1/2" x 3-1/2".
Here is what I did with this ATC: Added adhesive Gold Flower gem with a Red adhesive gem for the center positioned at the top left corner. Used a Brushed Gold Card Stock (from Kelly paper) for the mat: popped with dimensionals, and SU Old Olive card stock base embossed with a similar pattern in the Washi Paper. "Thank You" is using Versamark and Black embossing powder.
The embossing folder from Couture Creations called Walrus & Carpenter:
The stamp set is from Clear & Simple stamps. Look at all the options there are on this one stamp set.
So thank you Jan for sending me this great ATC - now I know what people do with these!

Asian Thank You Card

Another quick posting with a Thank You card. This one is quick and to the point. The background cling style Kanji stamp is from ??? Yikes, I can't remember which vendor so if anyone knows, please let me know so I can make a note of it.. I am so happy to have found this stamp because I will sue it a lot for those thank you cards.  Black Card stock base used, with Gold CS from Kelly Paper, some SU Real Red for the mat along with 5/8" gold organdy ribbon.  The Kanji Thank You word is a SVG cut file from Jin Yong's Under a Cherry Tree blog which can be found here.
Here's a look at the Kanji Thank You popped with dimensionals:
Card inside: message is stamped using Papertrey Ink's Thanks All Ways stamp set (love this set since it is so versatile with all the cool thank you sayings)
I may need to make a few more of these to have on hand ..........and with the Papertrey Ink's Thanks All Ways stamp set, I can wait until the last minute to stamp the inside message.Have yourself a very crafty day.
